Gail Jones – Chair
Appointed as chair of Coventry and Warwickshire Mind in January 2021, Gail has served in numerous trustee roles, including vice chair for one year and treasurer for over 10 years. She has worked in the civil service for 25 years, with the last seven years of her career working with the HMRC. Gail is also a keen volunteer and has volunteered her time within several of our services in the past.
Terry Plant – Vice-chair
Terry joined the board in 2015. Terry is an architect who is passionate about mental health design/services. He has worked closely with the NHS to design and build numerous facilities up and down the country having run his own architectural services for over 25 years. Terry has worked across the UK and internationally as a specialist advisor for the World Health Organisation. Running his own company means he has a broad range of knowledge about company accounts, business case writing and business management including marketing and human resources.
James Hanlon – Treasurer
James joined the board of Coventry and Warwickshire Mind in January 2021 having just returned to the UK from the USA. He has held various board level and trustee positions in the UK and USA. James is currently Head of Legal at the Coventry Building Society.
John joined the board of Coventry and Warwickshire Mind in July 2019 as Treasurer, bringing with him valuable skills from his professional career to the organisation. John is a chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of Tax with over 40 years’ experience in this field.
Annette joined the board of Coventry and Warwickshire Mind in January 2021. In her early years she worked at NHS UHCW and for the past 40 years has worked at Coventry University. Annette recently retired from her last role working in the Mental Health and Wellbeing Zone team at Coventry University. Annette is keen to bring her experience to the organisation. She is also a MHFA trainer.
David joined the board in July 2019 as someone who has benefitted from the service of Coventry and Warwickshire Mind. David brings a valuable perspective to the organisation as the chair of our Expert by Experience Group – taking a keen interest in finding out and supporting all aspects of Coventry and Warwickshire Mind’s work and how we deliver high quality mental health services. David is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, has wide experience in administration and general management roles.
Gary joined the board in 2010 having previously accessed young people’s services with Coventry and Warwickshire Mind. Once he reached an age where he could no longer access these services, he wanted to give something back and joining the board as a young person’s representative seemed like the perfect opportunity. He now works in administration / medical records at the NHS mental health hospital.
Rebecca joined the board in January 2021 having worked in the VCSE sector since 2008, mainly in research and evaluation, but also linked to good governance, collaboration and partnership working. Her interest initially came about when she worked for Coventry and Warwickshire Mind a couple of years ago. In addition to Rebecca’s professional skill set and experience, she has her own lived experience of mental health challenges. Rebecca is passionate about improving the support for people with mental health challenges but is also passionate about ensuring the Coventry and Warwickshire Mind is a well-functioning organisation.
David joined the board in 2010 having initially become aware of the organisation when looking to offer his services a volunteer when he retired. Having spent many years as a project and people manager, David brings a broad range of business-related skills and experiences to the organisation.
Parmjit Sanghera (co-opted)
Carol joined the board in 2008 having been a service user with Coventry and Warwickshire Mind for a number of years. Carol brings a wealth of experience in relation to the services offered by Coventry and Warwickshire Mind in the past.
