Walking Out Of Darkness 2018

Here’s an opportunity to raise money for Coventry and Warwickshire Mind:

Walking out of Darkness is a family event being held in Birmingham and is a campaign to end stigma and raise awareness associated with mental health, wellbeing and suicide prevention. Participants are encouraged to walk in order to raise awareness, and some participants dedicate the walk to loved ones who lost their lives to suicide.

Walkers are encouraged to fundraise for the mental health charity sector and participants wishing to raise money should do so by joining an established charity ‘just giving’ website of their choice, it is an excellent opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause.

We would love for participants to raise funds for CW Mind.

Where and when will this year’s walk take place?

The walk itself will start from Victoria Square by the Town Hall in Birmingham (5 minutes’ walk from New Street and Snow Hill Stations) and cover a distance of 10km around Birmingham city centre and parts of the city’s canal network.

The walk will also finish at Victoria Square, where walkers will be encouraged to congregate and engage with statutory organisations and exhibitors.

The event starts at 10am with speakers to address walkers and the general public about the event; with the walk itself starting at 11am.
