Job Title Night Support Worker
Location Coventry, Intensive Recovery Support Service
Salary £20,000 per annum
Hours

Full time – 37 hours per week

Shift work on a rota basis

 

Purpose of the Job

We are currently looking for two Night Support Workers to provide practical and emotional person-centred support that works towards empowerment and recovery, which values equality and diversity and is proactively targeted to achieve levels of independence appropriate for each resident.  To advance service support of clients, averting crisis and distress overnight and to include light-touch personal care where this is needed.

Key responsibilities include:-

  • To work as part of a three-person team, overnight, based at Harry Salt House.
  • To respond appropriately to all concerns in relation to the security of the site keeping a record and reporting in line with service procedures.
  • To carry out a range of duties which ensure the wellbeing of all service users and that an effective outcome defined delivery of support is achieved.
  • To provide light-touch personal care to clients, where this is needed.
  • To ensure the minimum standards as set by CQC, are met, and exceeded.
  • To respond appropriately to all incidents, keeping a record and reporting in line with service procedures.
  • To assist clients in developing their living skills (including budgeting, shopping, menu planning and cleanliness of their environment).
  • To maintain therapeutic and professional relationships with service users, their families and other health care professionals.
  • To keep up to date with any changes or amendments within support plans, risk assessments and to be aware of the organisations safeguarding policy and procedures.

Essential criteria includes:

  • Experience of working in care/support.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care.
  • Ability to co-ordinate and prioritise a range of duties and responsibilities.
  • Able to work as part of a team and individually.
  • Able to carry out light touch personal care, if required.
  • An ability to travel to venues across Coventry, if required.
  • Flexibility – Able to work shifts over 7 nights
