Strictly 2019 Grand Total

The money has been counted and we’re delighted to announce the amount that’s been raised through Coventry does Strictly 2019.

The two-day extravaganza at Citrus Hotel in Ryton-on-Dunsmore has generated a glitterball spinning £14,889.73. An astounding sum!

We would like to thank each of the talented contestants. Not only did they practise hard in the weeks leading up to the shows to deliver show-stopping routines on May 10 and 11, they also fundraised individually to contribute to the grand total – every penny of which will be spent on our Wellbeing for Coventry service to support local people experiencing mental health problems.

Our thanks also go to the Coventry does Strictly judges for their entertaining commentary on both nights, and Dancing Feet Coventry without which it would not have been possible.

Dancing Feet Coventry organised the show and the dance company’s professionals provided stunning choreography and expert tuition to unleash the fancy footwork of our novice dancers, with plenty of top scores awarded on the nights.

CW Mind supporters were generous too in donating brilliant prizes for the raffles and buying tickets to attend the shows.

Much effort had gone into the events and it doesn’t stop there as we’re doing it all again!

Dancing Feet Coventry is planning another Coventry does Strictly in 2020 to raise funds for Coventry and Warwickshire Mind.
Jade Clarke, CW Mind Business Development Lead, said:

“It was pleasure to work with Dancing Feet Coventry on Coventry does Strictly 2019. The amateur dancers performed brilliantly with their professionals on both nights, and we’re overwhelmed by the total raised. This money will make such an amazing difference to so many people. Thank you to everyone for their support.

“We’re also delighted by Dancing Feet Coventry’s commitment to supporting us next year and are already excited for Coventry does Strictly 2020 for Coventry and Warwickshire Mind.”
