Location: Coventry & Warwickshire
Salary: £24,214 – £30,112 (FTE)
Hours: 37.5 hours – part-time hours considered

Coventry and Warwickshire Mind are currently looking for qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (qualification is through the National IAPT Development programme training for Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners) to work within the Coventry and Warwickshire IAPT service.  The service is delivered in partnership with Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust.

Coventry and Warwickshire Mind strives to meet the challenges of good mental health support to all by promoting increased awareness and understanding of mental health issues within the community we serve.  Providing a range of services appropriate to the needs of people experiencing mental distress, that enhances their self worth as valued citizens.

Purpose of the job:

Applicants will be required to:

  • Undertake psychological assessments of individuals aged 16+ who are referred to the service.
  • Offer and provide low intensity psychological interventions (in line with IAPT Step 2 approach) to individuals experiencing mild to moderate depression and anxiety, including stress and adjustment to life events.  This will include group and individual work.
  • Work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using a range of suitable and evidence-based interventions.
  • Where appropriate, refer patients to employment advice services to encourage patients into employment or training.
  • Play a role in education , training and support in mental health and psychological issues for primary care professionals and other relevant agencies.

Essential Criteria Includes:

  • National IAPT Development programme – qualification.
  • Evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills.
  • Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • High level of enthusiasm and motiviation.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Regard for others and respect for individual rights of autonomy and confidentiality.

We have PWPs placed in the locality bases at Coventry, Rugby, Nuneaton and Stratford upon Avon and currently have the potential to place a successful candidate in each base.  Successful applicants will be asked at interview which base would be their preference.
