Job Title Occupational Therapist
Location: Coventry and Warwickshire
Salary: £25,000 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week, 8am – 8pm service
Purpose of the job:

Coventry and Warwickshire Mind has recently been funded, through Warwickshire County Council, to strengthen support services to parents, children and young people pre/post assessment for Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) across Coventry and Warwickshire.  We are therefore recruiting a brand-new team to take up this fantastic opportunity.  The ASD service will sit alongside the well-established children and young people’s services within Coventry and Warwickshire Mind, CAMHS Rise and Specialist CAMHS.

The post holder will work with families, children and young people pre/post assessment for autism as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

A minimum of one year’s experience of working with children and young people with ASD and their families and one year’s experience of working in a mental health service required.

Access to own vehicle and the ability to travel to venues across Coventry and Warwickshire, and the flexibility to work towards an 8am – 8pm service.

Term time only requests will also be considered.

Applicants are required to have:

  • A minimum of one year’s experience of working with children and young people with ASD and their families.
  • A minimum of one year’s experience of working in a mental health setting.
  • An ability to effectively engage with children, young people and their families.
  • Up to date knowledge of mental health, specifically in relation to the difficulties that may present in children and young people with or awaiting assessment for ASD.
  • Knowledge and understanding of social communication difficulties; sensory needs; imagination/flexibility challenges and their impact on functioning and emotional regulation.
  • Professional qualification and up to date registration in Occupational Therapy.
  • Working knowledge of child and adult safeguarding reporting processes.
