“Not” the Donkey Success

Coventry and Warwickshire Mind had a fantastic day at the “Not” the Donkey Derby 2019 at Coventry’s War Memorial Park.

The family fun day was a huge sucess with a great turn-out from the public, raising more than £70 for our mental health services thanks to the fun and games we hosted on the day.

The event was run by the Coventry Leofric Lions and, previously called The Donkey Derby, has been running for more than 50 years. It is a great family day out with something for everyone to take part in.

CW Mind staff and volunteers went along with our Mental Health and Wellbeing Bus and our hand-made human fruit machine, which was a big hit with those who attended. We were also there to offer support and advice with our display table full of information leaflets for those who needed it.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped raise money for our mental health services. Thank you also to the volunteers who gave us their time and helped on our stall.

The Coventry Leofic Lions did a fantastic job in running the event and made the day fun for all ages, with the classic car displays, fairground rides and Coventry marching band adding to the great atmosphere of the event.
