Mental Health Awareness

This course is designed for anyone seeking an understanding of common mental health conditions, and teaches how to deal sensitively with someone who may need help.

These courses emphasises the importance of good mental health and how we can improve our lives.

Introduction course (half day) covers: 

  • Recognising common problems
  • Signs and symptoms
  • How to support someone and how to take care of ourselves
  • Mental health resources and referral points
  • Challenging stigma

Full course (two days) covers:

  • Identifying and understanding common mental health problems and their treatments
  • Spot the signs of a mental health condition and prevent deterioriation
  • Feel confident helping someone who my need support ad referral
  • Communicating empathically whilst maintaining personal boundaries
  • Risk reduction and safety issues
  • Reducing stigma around mental health conditions
  • A toolkit to support you with information and guidance
