18th – 24th May 2020 #KindnessMatters

See below for the campaigns that ran on social media duting this week.

Thank you to everyone who took part!

Today is #ThoughfulTuesday in our week of #KindnessMatters
We love the videos made by Kid President and wanted to share this one to help you think of 20 things we could say more often to show kindness to those around us.

During the current Covid-19 pandemic, rainbows have been an emblem for hope and kindness.
Why not create a paper-chain rainbow full of acts of kindness?
Perhaps hang the paper-chain in your front garden for people to see as they go for a walk?
You could even leave some paper and a pen on your garden wall for other people to add their ideas to the chain too!

Throughout #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek the children and young people’s team are sharing ideas to show #KindnessMatters.

Today’s theme is #ThoughtfulTuesday.
To start the day thinking about kindness; here’s an idea of a way to get the conversation started.
(you could also use any other type of coloured sweets or even crayons too).

We can find that it is easy to focus on the negatives or the challenges we are facing. In this #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek why not use this #ThoughtfulTuesday idea to count and celebrate the kindnesses. Share ways that others have been kind to you, give those around you a compliment, do a small job around the house without being asked… however small, let’s recognise that #KindnessMatters

Thank you to John for sharing his #ThankfulThursday for our colleagues in the NHS!
‘I am thankful to the NHS because they are saving peoples lives while putting their own at risk.’ – John.
