Also, WE DID IT!! The journey is complete!!
In the last three weeks I rode 3000km heading North through India. Now I’m back in Jaipur. It’s been incredibly tough, but I’m so pleased to have kept on going through everything and finally be here safely. This means I have travelled a total of 8000km in india, so my fundraising goal is now £800. Please read my full story below so you know what I’ve been doing in the last four months. Thanks for your support!!

The Story…An Expected Journey:

12th March 2019: Hi, I’m Peter. I’m currently on a motorcycle journey through India. I started in December from the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan. So far I’ve covered 5000km, riding to Mumbai, to Goa, then across the country from the West to the East coast; to Chennai. Now I’m in South India, in the French settlement town of Pondicherry.

I want to bring awareness to Coventry and Warwickshire Mind because they were there for me when I needed some help last year. I was lucky to find them in Rugby town and they offered a friendly and supportive environment, where I was able to make friends and work on the trouble I was facing. If you are suffering with anxiety or unhappiness, I highly recommend visiting one of their support hubs, where you will always be welcome.

What I am doing right now:
I’m riding my motorcycle through the amazing and unbelievable country of India.
I have a 100cc Hero Honda motorcycle, which I named ‘Shaktishaalee’ (in Hindi language), this means ‘powerful ‘.
I only have very basic equipment with me, no phone, no gps, only what is essential.
I mostly ride on small roads through the quiet countryside, stopping at towns and villages along the way and speaking to local people.
At night I camp out in the wild, I have a mosquito net and a mat to lay on, normally I don’t have to worry about rain and I love looking up at the stars.
Each night I build a small fire to cook my food, which is normally curried veg and noodles.
So far I travelled 5000km and I have 1000km to go.
I’m on an adventure!!!

I have been travelling like this for three months and I see the end is in sight. I am aiming to ride about 1000km further so my total will be 6000km.

Please help me raise 10p for each km of my journey!!! My target is £600. For each donation, you can work out how far you have sponsored me for. So:

£5 = 50km
£10 = 100km
£20 = 200km
£100 = 1000km

Don’t forget to giftaid if you can!

Thanks if you have read this far and please wish me luck for the end of my ride 😀

Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Coventry & Warwickshire Mind to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Coventry & Warwickshire Mind we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Coventry & Warwickshire Mind to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Coventry & Warwickshire Mind will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Coventry & Warwickshire Mind receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

    Great work, Dangerous Pierre!

      Lol! Nice quote 🙂
It was like that at the start, I was overambitious about where I thought I could go so rode out to some remote villages. Needless to say, I got stuck on some sand roads and navigation was near impossible. But I was also invited to stay in the house of a family and I stayed at a temple next to reservoir, amazing!!
The first 200km took two and a half days!!!!!
