CWMind is Mayor’s Chosen Charity

Coventry and Warwickshire Mind is delighted to have been selected as one of two of the Mayor of Rugby’s chosen charities for 2018/2019.

In his Mayor Making speech the Mayor of Rugby, Councillor Tom Mahoney, said: “Coventry & Warwickshire Mind is a local mental health charity affiliated to Mind, the leading mental health charity in England & Wales. Poor mental health can affect any one of us at sometimes in our lives. Unfortunately, unlike other ailments, there is still a stigma surrounding mental health issues.

“I look forward to working with them to raise awareness and in doing so help break down the barriers that prevent those in need to gain access to timely mental health treatment.”

On Tuesday 12 June, Rugby Wellbeing Hub staff welcomed Cllr Mahoney on his first visit to the hub where he was able to meet and chat with clients to learn more about the service and support offered.

Cllr Mahoney has launched his Simple Thank You campaign to highlight the work of individuals and organisations who serve Rugby’s communities and during his visit presented Rugby Wellbeing Hub Peer Supporters and Volunteers with a certificate from this campaign, to recognise the valuable role they give to the service.

We look forward to working with him wherever possible in the coming year.
